Preparation Makes Room for Expansion
Ever feel like there's more inside of you—but you're not quite sure how to access it? Like God placed something special in you, but you're waiting for the right moment or the right season for it to really grow?
Here’s the truth: God does want to do more through you.
But the way we partner with Him in that process is simple: we prepare.
Not in a “strive-and-hustle” kind of way, but in a "God, I trust You enough to get ready" kind of way.
Whether you’re navigating your career, raising a family, rebuilding after a hard season, or just trying to walk in purpose day by day—preparation makes room for expansion. And that starts in the heart.
You Can’t Pour from an Empty Heart
Let’s be real: we’ve all tried to show up for other people while running on fumes. It doesn’t work. And even if it looks like it’s working, you know on the inside—it’s exhausting.
Before we pour into anything—our relationships, our goals, our responsibilities—we’ve got to make sure we’re filled first. That includes spending time with the Lord, but it also means paying attention to your heart.
Have you taken time to let Him heal what’s hurting?
Are you creating space to just be with Him, not do for Him?
Have you asked Him lately, “Lord, is there something You want to deal with in me before You do something through me?”
Healing is a form of preparation and a whole heart makes it easier to carry what God’s about to expand in your life.
Preparation Is Faith in Action
Proverbs 16:3 says, “Commit your work to the Lord, and your plans will be established.” That word commit actually means to roll—like rolling the weight of something fully onto God.
So when you prepare—when you pray ahead, plan ahead, even heal ahead—you’re saying, “God, I believe You’re doing something, and I’m making room for it now.” When I was single and believing that I would one day be married, I prepared; I did the work physicially, mentally, emotionally, spiritually, and even financially to get prepared. When we don't prepare, are we really in faith?
You’re not waiting until the “perfect” opportunity shows up. You’re choosing to get ready now because you know God doesn’t waste what He’s planted in you.
Excellence Is Intentional, Not Accidental
You don’t have to be perfect—but being intentional goes a long way.
Colossians 3:23 says, “Whatever you do, do it with all your heart, as working for the Lord.” When you approach your life—your work, your home, your dreams—with that mindset, your preparation changes.
It becomes less about checking boxes and more about honoring what God has entrusted you with. And guess what? Preparation gives you peace. It helps you be present. It helps you breathe. And it leaves room for joy.
Don’t Just Prepare—Plan to Prepare
There’s a difference between prepping in the moment and actually planning ahead. Jesus said in Luke 14:28, “Who builds a tower without first sitting down to count the cost?”
Let’s bring that into real life:
If you’ve got a big week coming up—don’t wait until the night before to get your head and heart in the game.
If you're trying to live with more purpose—don’t leave your time with God to chance.
If you're hoping for restoration in a relationship—don’t hope for change without preparing your heart for how to love differently.
Preparation says: “I’m expecting something good, and I’m getting ready for it.”
God Moves in the Space You Make
In Acts 1, Jesus told His followers to wait for the Holy Spirit. But they didn’t just wait around doing nothing. They got in position. They prayed. They discerned what needed to be in place. And then? The Holy Spirit came.
That’s how it works for us too.
Planning and preparing don’t replace God’s power—they make room for it.
When your heart is clear, when your mind isn’t racing, when your hands are open—you’re more available to hear, respond, and follow His lead.
Your Preparation Speaks
People around you notice how you live. Whether you’re a parent, a spouse, a friend, or just trying to grow into the best version of yourself—how you prepare sets the tone.
It creates a culture. A rhythm. It tells others (and yourself), “This matters. God has trusted me with this and I want to show up well.”
And when preparation becomes part of your lifestyle—not pressure, not performance, but partnership—you’ll start to see God do more than you imagined through the very things you’ve been preparing for.
Don’t just wait for life to change.
Get ready. Plan. Pray. Heal. Prepare. Because when you do, you’re telling God: “I trust You. I believe there’s more. And I’m ready for You to expand what You’ve placed in me.”
And He will. 💛
